\\Therapeutic Cupping//

Another treatment modality that we use to assist with musculoskeletal issues.

Although this may seem like a new trend, there are ancient origins in Egyptian, Chinese & Middle Eastern cultures with the earliest mention of cupping in 1550 BC.

Treatment involves placing small glass, silicone or plastic cups on the skin and creating a vacuum using heat or a suction pump.

There is either dry or wet cupping which both have there independent benefits.

•Wet cupping: creating tiny cuts to the skin and applying the cups directly over the area to draw out a small amount of blood out. The main benefits of this treatment are to remove toxins and harmful substances from the body.

•Dry cupping: applying the cups directly onto the tissue, then introducing movement to improve blood flow, reduce tension and improve range of motion.

We offer dry cupping in conjunction with soft tissue therapy which is often a favourite of our local athletes.
